It’s summer and the kids are done with school for over six weeks. Children and teenagers are having to rack their brains to find something to do with their days after discovering their new freedom. I have decided to make a series that shows things that I have been doing over the holidays so you at home will not fall into a seemingly bottomless hole known as boredom. In this series, I will give you some ideas on what you could do with your spare time.
Make smoothies – Smoothies are great for loads of reasons. Depending on what you put in them they can either be nice and healthy or incredibly indulgent. The ideas you could come up with for smoothies are endless and making them is a great way to pass the time. If you are struggling for inspiration I have the recipe for a strawberry, banana and apricot smoothie here.
Preparation time – 10 minutes
Serves – Depends on how much you drink but it makes around 900ml
Equipment needed –
- Chopping Board
- 400g Strawberries
- 4 medium sized bananas
- 2 small apricots
- 160ml milk
- Chop up all your strawberries into four
- Slice all your bananas up as well
- Cut the apricots into smallish chunks
- Throw it all into a blender (by that I mean calmly place inside the blender don’t throw the poor fruit around)
- Add the milk
- Blend until smooth
- Pour into cups
You should add more or less of whatever you fancy and add what you want. Go ahead and experiment with new flavours. I only added two small apricots because they have quite a strong flavour and I feel it might overtake the entire smoothie if you add any more but if you want more apricots add more. There are many smoothie combinations out in the world so you should go explore. If you still can’t think of any ideas, then consult the internet.
