August Favourites

Another month has gone and another favourites has come. It is the dreaded back to school time and nearly every school kid is trying to make the most of their last few days of freedom. Or they have already gone back to school and cannot wait for the holidays that come with Halloween. I am feeling very productive today so I am going to hop straight into this post (not literally that would be silly… it would also hurt).

Note from future me- I am sorry about this being a bit later than usual. I can’t really give an exact reason because I don’t have one but yeah. Sorry 🙂

IMG_0420.JPGI am a bit late to be raving about this one but I thought I would put it in anyway. It is the Garnier micellar cleansing water. I was quite sceptical about this seeing as I am not used to using what looks like plain water to remove my makeup. Also, it doesn’t need rinsing which I am not used to either. After seeing soooo many people loving it though I decided to buy it. I only brought a small travel size one because of me being sceptical and when I used it for the first time I was pleasantly surprised. It removes makeup really well and hasn’t irritated my skin, which is quite sensitive, at all whilst I have been using it. It makes my skin feel really clean and refreshed in seconds. Due to the fact it does not need to be washed off even when I am in a hurry, I can still remove all the makeup off my face or use it to cleanse in the mornings for a quick skin refresher. I am also very lazy so not having to put in the extra work of washing it off is a great concept to me. If you don’t believe me when I say about how amazing this product is then just look on YouTube and you will find tonnes and tonnes of beauty bloggers raving about this. It also smells quite nice in my opinion and that will always be a bonus.

IMG_0424.JPGAnother product that comes under the category of skincare is the simple clear skin oil balancing facial scrub. Firstly, I was looking for a face scrub I could use daily because ones that you can’t use daily I forget about unless it is right there in my face. If I can develop a daily routine I will stick to it and this fits right in. It is really gentle on the skin and it somehow has stopped my skin from going really shiny. It also kinda cool. I’ll explain why. When you squirt it out the bottle it looks a bit like a moisturiser as it is quite smooth looking. Then after you have started to apply it to your face you notice that there are little things that are rubbing against your skin gently exfoliating your skin. If you are anything like me, you will look to try and see what is actually rubbing against your skin and if you look closely you will discover that they are virtually invisible and you can’t find it. I find that kind of cool. Anyway, after you use it your skin will be super soft and shine free. And yeah. I really like it for those reasons.

Moving swiftly on to makeup I have been really enjoying an eyeshadow palette by No7. It is the ultimate eyeshadow palette. It contains 20 beautiful eyeshadows and each one of them is very pigmented and easy to blend. You can create countless day and night looks with this. It also has a pretty impressive mirror which is absolutely massive so you will be able to see exactly what you are doing. The colours of the eyeshadows are very natural and yet there is a large range of colours. As well as that there is a good mix of matte and shimmery eyeshadows which adds bonus points in my opinion. If you are just starting out with makeup this palette will be all you need in terms of eyeshadow. They are all sooo pretty and I love them.

The next makeup item I have been loving to bits this past month is an Avon tinted lip balm in the colour reviving raspberry. It is a very bright pink but it is darker than a hot pink. It isn’t a shade I would go for if it was a lipstick because very bold colours aren’t my thing but because it’s a tinted lip balm there isn’t enough pigmentation to make it look weird on my face. That isn’t to say it hasn’t got much pigmentation because it has. It gives a very nice subtle(ish) wash of colours over your lips and it feels super moisturising. It feels like you have only applied a plain old lip balm but then it has added colour to your lips which I feel is a good thing. It’s like when you want to wear lipstick but all your lipsticks are too drying but you still want colour on your lips. This is what you would reach for. The only downside I can think of is that I don’t really like the smell (which is basically chemicals) but I can get past that as it isn’t too strong.

The last thing I have been really enjoying this month is something called a graze box. It is a company originally based in the UK but they have since expanded to the US. If you watch YouTube, you may have heard of things like loot crates or beauty boxes. It is essentially like them. Only with food. You pay £3.99 (per box) for 4 snacks to come through your door either twice a week, once a week or once every two weeks. There are over 100 snacks to choose from and each one is good for you in its own way. For example, it might be very in low calories, it might be high in fibre or it might be a source of protein. Whatever it is it will be a healthy snack. You get to rate all the snacks so you won’t have any you dislike. This has saved me from snacking on chocolate so many times. It has also got me into looking for healthy food because I have found that quite a bit of healthy food tastes (in my opinion) wayyyyyyyyy better than an unhealthy alternative. I have had two boxes in the past month and I have been pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend this if you want to start (or carry on) eating healthier foods.

Anyway, that is all for this post. Comment down below if you have tried any of these things mentioned and yeah.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!
