Camden Market – London Day 2

Recently I paid a visit to the capital of England – London. I have been before but I was very young and all I remember is my little brother getting scared at the moving dinosaur at the natural history museum. This time around I am positive more happy and joyful memories have been formed. Ones that will last me a lifetime.

However, my memory is a bit weird in the sense that the only thing I really seem to remember is song lyrics. I kept that in mind as I walked around and decided the best way to preserve this beautiful place is through photographs. So that’s what I did. I also thought that I should share some of these pictures with you guys. So that’s what I did.

Today’s post is day 2 and we did so much walking it was unreal. My feet hurt so much after that day. According to my phone (which died halfway through the day so it didn’t record all of it), I walked 8km. I normally average about 6km and that day I had done well over 10km.

So that is the end of these London updates. I did stay an extra day but it was mostly a blur of trains and people and no photo opportunities came up. Let me know what you think in the comments below and if you have ever been to London please share your experience I would love to hear from you.

Thank you so much for reading/looking at this post and I hope you have a lovely day/night.

Hope you liked the pictures. There will be another one of these because I was in London for more than one day. However, after that posts will return to normal. And by normal, I mean infrequent random posts that shock everyone when they finally get posted. I am so sorry that I am really lazy (and busy) and I promise that I will post a LOT more in the next couple of months.

Thank you so much for reading/looking at this post and I hope you have a lovely day/night.

B Is For Beautiful Skincare Review/First Impressions

I went a bit crazy shopping online for skincare recently.

Now all I wanted was a simple packet of face wipes and I was looking at all the brands and deciding which one was best for my skin when I got a bit side tracked and bought a lot more than I was originally supposed to.

This isn’t normal person crazy. Normal person crazy would be that multiple boxes came through the post and filled the hall with little to none moving space in-between. When I go crazy it means that instead of buying one thing I buy 5 things with an additional two things come through as added extras in one big box.

However, I have never used any of these products before and I am very excited to try them so I thought that I would give you guys a little first impressions of these products. Side note – Incase I haven’t made it clear in the title this is about skincare. Now these all have slightly confusing names and I have honestly no clue what half of them are and I am so glad right now that I don’t have to say the names to anyone right now because I can’t pronounce it correctly for the life of me. Also, I would like to say that I had perfect natural lighting the day before this came in the post and now it has gone all rainy again so the pictures aren’t that great which is upsetting but oh well.

This is all from the brand B is for beautiful and it is cruelty-free, paraben free and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans which I think is nice. The first item I brought is the skin wipes I wanted to buy in the beginning. Can I make it clear that I ordered three packets of these so if I don’t like them I have a lot of spare wipes.

This is from the B. Pure range and they are the sensitive micellar cleansing wipes. The wipes don’t really have a fragrance and are not dry which is always good. They are textured which adds an exciting visual element. They are smooth on the face and my face feels pretty clean. I get a really oily forehead and this wipe washes away all the oils and left it feels soft and smooth like the rest of my face. That is a really big thing for me. If my forehead is still oily then I feel like it hasn’t cleaned my face at all and it was just pointless so if these wipes had failed that test I would have had to have gone on my search for some more wipes again because they wouldn’t have cut it for me. So, my first impressions of these face wipes is they nice to touch, don’t leave any trace of my oily forehead behind and have not caused my sensitive skin to inflame. Most products fail at the last one and I was really impressed. I will be certainly using these again.

The next product is the B. Revealed glycolic cleansing peel. I had no clue what this was and it sounded cool so I decided I would give it a go.

The “definition” like thing on the back says

B. Revealed is a dual action cleansing polisher. It gently softens and buffs away dull, dead skin cells for a smooth, youthful-looking complexion”.

I read the directions on the back because if I didn’t I would be likely to mess up. Inside the box, you have a tube with the actual product inside and a muslin cloth. Now when I went to put this product on my face firstly, it has a slight fragrance which I find to be pleasant and secondly this product is a very thick cream. The instructions did not specify how much of this product I should be applying on my face so I did a moderately thin layer all over my face and neck and then set a timer for the 3 minutes specified. Depending on how busy your evening/morning/life in general is you may not have time to use this product. This is something you should use 2-3 times a week. After the 3 minutes was up I dampened the muslin cloth and washed it off. This was slightly challenging as when I put it on the cream was white and it turned clear 3 minutes after and that made it hard to know where it was in order for me to rinse it off. However, I think I succeeded in the end and I have to say that my skin is so smooth and soft it is unreal. This also made my forehead extremely matte and non-glossy and all traces of oil have been swept away showing my skin as it is naturally supposed to be and I for one am extremely impressed by this brand so far.

The last product I spontaneously brought is the B. Refreshed essence lotion. IMG_4460.JPGFrom what I understand of all the words on the bottle this replenishes your skin with 12-hour intense moisture. Although we are now technically in spring the air is still really cold where I live and I get dry skin everywhere which is really annoying as you can’t use concealer over it without it looking weird and that just leads to further complications which I am not prepared to deal with. So, having zilch dry skin would be nice so I bought this product to give it a go and see if it can help. This is a clear liquid and it is for all skin types. Just saying that I really like the packaging on all of these products. The design is unique and sophisticated which draws people’s attention. It also doesn’t vary from product to product it is that set design which I also like. It smells like my grandma’s house and I’m not sure why. However, this smell is pleasant and I quite enjoy it. At first, when I put a few drops in my hand I thought it was an oil type thing and panicked. I hate the feel of oil on my skin and I know that it can be good as a moisturiser and such but I really hate the feel of it against my skin so I almost threw the product out right there and then. But it turns out that it isn’t an oil and all is well so I put it on my face and gently patted it in like the instructions told me to. Unlike most things that are supposed to moisturise this did not feel weird against my forehead and did not produce any excess oil that I would have to deal with. My skin still feels really soft and I can’t tell much of a difference between before I put it on and after. However, with extended use, I feel like I will see some more prominent results.

All in all, I have been really impressed with these products that I have brought and will be definitely looking at some of their other ranges and perhaps purchase them as well. If you have used any products from this brand before I would like to hear your opinion of them so, please comment it below.

We have reached 600 followers on Instagram! Whoopeeeeeeee! I have been busy of late which is why this post which was supposed to be in honour of reaching 500 followers is so late. However, I have another post lined up and ready to be written for you guys so stay tuned that could be up in a week depending on how productive I am and whether or not I get good lighting for the pictures required.

If you don’t already follow me on Instagram, then my username is unicornlife2016.

Thank you so much for reading this post and I hope you have a lovely day/night. Bye!

DIY Things to do when bored jar

Yay look it’s a post let’s all do a random dance.

So I don’t really know what to call this DIY and thing to do when bored jar was quite literally the best I could come up with.

But you have probably guessed it this is a DIY and I am going to teach you (hopefully) how to make one of these things.

IMG_4034.JPG

You will need the following supplies:

  • A jar (I used a random jar that was previously filled with sweets)
  • Some plain A4 paper (other sizes will work)
  • Scissors
  • A pen
  • Thread/string thing
  • Anything you think you could use to bling up the jar
  • Time
  • Patience… lots of it

img_4018

Here’s how to do it:

  1. First, remove all labels off of your jar (unless you want to keep them on)IMG_4019.JPG
  2. Then take out anything the jar may be holding and find another home for it because this jar is now takenIMG_4020.JPG
  3. Now take your paper and cut it up into smaller pieces (but not too small you will be writing on them in a minute)IMG_4024.JPG
  4. Next, write on the pieces of paper ideas of things to do when you are bored (You can do as many as you want (I did 72)) – Note that the internet may be needed in order to accomplish this stepIMG_4025.JPG
  5. If you thought that was time-consuming wait for this one. Take all those pieces of paper and roll them up and tie them up with the thread/string thingIMG_4026.JPG
  6. Put them in the jar as you do it because chances are they aren’t all going to fit and unless you have another spare jar it will be a disaster
  7. For all the ones that don’t fit shove a paperclip on them and keep them safe – you just spent ages writing them outIMG_4028.JPG
  8. Now decorate your jar in any way you see fit and voila! You are done! Yay!

And there you have it. Next time you are bored you can simply whip out a rolled up piece of paper from the jar and then do the thing mentioned on the said piece of paper. It will hopefully stop you from dying of boredom (yes that is actually a thing you can be bored to death – if you don’t believe me look it up).

If you try this project out please post a pic on Instagram or twitter and tag me in it so I can see it. My username is unicornlife2016 on both.

It was Valentine’s day recently hope you all had fun. I ate ice cream and had pancakes for breakfast but that was it.

Thank you so much for reading this. It’s kinda short but meh. I hope you have a lovely day/night. Bye!

Typical day in my life – day 6

For the record, this is what I do on the weekend and not the weekdays because for me weekdays are pretty boring and I know that I certainly wouldn’t want to write about my typical weekday because I would get sad.

If you are at all discombobulated right now about what this post could be about it’s a typical day in my life. If you are discombobulated about why I am writing about that click here and that should explain (no promises, though). After clicking that little link, I would strongly advise you come back here and read this post with your new-found knowledge and embrace this post fully. If you enjoyed this post, then you will be pleased to know that there are another 5 posts a bit like this in the sense that they all are part of my 7-day blog challenge. You should also be mildly upset that because it is day 6 there is only one more after this and then all my posts will go back to normal (or as normal as they will ever get).

So, typical Saturday we will go with. I also find Sunday’s sad because Monday is looming over it like a strict teacher and that’s upsetting.

On a Saturday I will end up accidently waking up really early and then make a half attempt to go back to sleep. Once I realise going to sleep again is way too unlike me and that my brain is now too wired to go back to sleep I admit defeat and groggily flounder downstairs to the kitchen.

Breakfast will consist of some form of cereal drowned in milk and me with a notepad and pen trying to think of ideas for anything. Anything. Just because I find it hard to think in the mornings and I need to make myself think if I am to accomplish anything that day.

After I feel much more energised and ready to face the world I joyfully trudge upstairs again to have a shower and get dressed. Makeup is always done but minimal because I’m in that mood at the moment so that’s what I go with.

Right, guys, this is the most exciting bit okay brace yourselves. For pretty much the rest of the day I (drumroll please) read. For pretty much the entire day. Read. And listen to music. With occasional stops to eat because eating is important to stay alive. There is a chance I would write a bit of a blog post but I like reading and listening to music so there isn’t really time. Over the week I gather a range of books to read and if I haven’t finished them in the week I take the time to finish them whilst slowly distancing myself from society which suits me fine.

Then I take off my virtually pointless makeup and then fall asleep.

I have a really exciting life.

Unfortunately, that’s as exciting as my life gets so who knew this would be one of the shorter posts of this little challenge. Not me that’s for sure.

So, moving swiftly on. Thank you so much for reading this post (albeit a little short) and I hope you have a good day/night.

My 7-day blog Challenge – day 3 – What’s in your bag?

This is day 3 of my 7-day blog challenge. If you don’t know what I am talking about click here. Then read this and after the previous two days will be waiting for you. Get reading!

I have no clue why but I really watching/reading about what people have in their bags. Probably because I am nosey and I also want ideas of things to stuff my bag with. Then I also don’t want it to be that heavy so I look for miniature versions of the exact same thing. But I haven’t got much in there so this won’t be long (sorry). Anyway…

Firstly, my bag is the backpack from the Zoella lifestyle range. It looks adorable and it’s quite big really but doesn’t really look like it from the outside. I was quite surprised that I could get all my stuff in there with ease. It is a really pretty light grey colour and I am in love with it. I am also a big fan of backpacks at the moment (which is lucky) so it works quite well with my mood.

I have an excessive amount of lip balms in there for some reason. I never use them. I always have several in my pocket. People wonder why but this Christmas I got 7 lip balms and that happens nearly very big event. I can’t use one up in a year so my collection just grows and grows. Not to mention that I buy myself way too many as well. So, the ones that I have in there at the moment (it changes regularly) and the Maybelline New York baby lips cherry me (I love this one: it smells amazing) and the Zoella kissy missy lip balm. If I actually remember they are in there I wear them at the same time and I quite like that look (I like them both separately as well). Should you have the chance to do it take it.

The next thing in there is a roll-on perfume which I think (but I have no clue if it is or not) is from Primark. It is called Coachella 05 and smells florally. I prefer the roll-on ones as opposed to the big glass bottle with a spray thingy seeing as I can control how much I want because sometimes one spray is not enough but two is too much and that annoys me. Also, the bottle is much smaller with the roll on ones so it takes up less space in my bag and they are lighter and because I am lazy and do not want to be lugging around a heavy bag with me all day with a perhaps explosive perfume in my backpack.

Then there’s my purse which is pretty run of the mill. It carries my money and that’s all it really needs to do. It’s supposed to carry my money not spend it for me. I can’t remember where I got it from but all I know is that it is better than a plastic bag. And it doesn’t really look that bad so it can look cute whilst protecting my money from potential perfume explosions.

Finally, there is the stupid amount of receipts that have been shoved down there that I have no idea when they were even received or what they are doing there or why I even brought the things labelled on them.

So, that is it. My bag. I said there wasn’t much. But I am constantly on the lookout for more things (that are preferably quite small) to shove in there so please add your thoughts and recommendations in the comments below. Sorry, this is a bit late tonight but I was a little busy today. And hey it went up so everything is fine.

Thank you so much for reading day 3 of my 7-day blog challenge and I hope you have a wonderful day/night. Bye!

7-day blog challenge – day 2 – 5 likes and dislikes

Hello, and welcome to day 2 of my 7-day blogging challenge. I am pumped up and ready to go.

So, for all you people who have no idea what I am talking about please click here to see a post explaining what this is and why I am doing it. Then come back and read this post and then after that you should go read day 1. However, these aren’t really connected so they can be read in any order.

Today’s post is on my top 5 likes and dislikes. You can’t tell much about a person from their likes and dislikes other than what they like and dislike. In that sense, it may seem a bit pointless but that is what I have down for today and there is no stopping me now.

I think I will start by talking about the negatives so we can end on a positive. These are my top 5 dislikes:

  • Wasps – I have no idea why they exist but they do and that just really annoys me. Not that I have ever been stung by one but the fear of being stung by one scares me greatly and I hate going outside in summer because of it.
  • Summer – Not because of the heat surprisingly but more because of the high pollen count and the fact I have to live off hay fever tablets in order to not have tears running down my face and to me sneezing every two seconds.
  • Slow Wi-Fi – Slow Wi-Fi is very frustrating because it’s either loading really slowly or not at all and our generation lives off Wi-Fi connection, therefore, I stop functioning when Wi-Fi stops. I could do something productive like go for a walk or read a book or even go for a nap but no I just sit in a corner looking miserable whilst staring at the little Wi-Fi symbol silently begging it to go up.
  • Slow walkers – I am a very quick walker. Mainly because I leave late and have to practically sprint to make sure I am somewhere on time. So, when other people don’t have the same sense of urgency that I have I get annoyed and start to think of all the ways I could annoy the person who is walking slow whilst also working out how I can overtake them and when would be the best time to do so. It’s a stressful business walking behind slow people. It’s equally annoying when the person you are walking with is a slow walker and you are forced to walk at their pace so as not to make them jog around after you.
  • Early mornings – I don’t understand people who can be cheerful at 6 in the morning. I just don’t. I can wake up at 6 in the morning easily but being happy about it is a completely different topic (and pretty much impossible in my case). Except for this morning. I think I have had so little sleep I’m in a stage where everything is fun and happy and I just can’t tell the difference anymore.

And now I am feeling all sad and down here are my top 5 likes:

  • Friends – No matter how much I dislike people I still wouldn’t want to live in a world without my friends. I couldn’t imagine the world without my friends. I wouldn’t want to imagine the world without my friends. I doubt anyone would.
  • Scented candles – I love scented candles. They make me feel all warm and Christmassy on the inside and sometimes that’s all I need to make me feel happy again. Just that feeling of comfort and home. Also, they make your room smell lovely which is always a bonus really.
  • Christmas – Specifically the build up to Christmas. Christmas day is good and all but the build-up is best really. Everyone has wrapped up warm and bustling around. Houses are brightly lit and people are generally more giving. Also, the presents and the chocolate a day and all of that. Again, that sense of comfort and warmth just helps me feel happy if I am sad.
  • Crunchy autumn leaves – You can almost notice a pattern here seeing as nearly everything on this list I have said makes me feel happy inside and comforted.
  • Twenty-One Pilots – I can just relate to their songs and they cover literally all genres of music. There will be at least one song of theirs you will like. They may or may not be my favourite band right now.

So, that’s my top 5 likes and dislikes and day 3 of my blog challenge. That was really hard for me to think of things. I never really think that way. I just know if I like or dislike something in the heat of the moment not before or after. Or I do I just forget or not bother to remember.

Thank you so much for reading this blog post and I hope you have a wonderful day/night. Bye!!
